Licensing Due Diligence
All applicants for an Internet Gaming Licence are subject to regulatory due diligence as part of the application process. The Authority conducts due diligence to assess the fitness, propriety, and regulatory suitability of each applicant.
◆ Due diligence is a mandatory component of the licence application process. No licence is issued until the Authority is satisfied that the applicant meets all regulatory requirements. The scope and depth of due diligence is proportionate to the nature of the licence sought.
Corporate & Structural Review
Applicants are required to provide full documentation relating to the applying entity’s corporate registration, ownership structure, and control arrangements. The Authority reviews the corporate chain to identify all beneficial owners and persons exercising significant control over the applicant entity.
This review includes verification of:
- Corporate registration documents
- Articles of incorporation
- Shareholder registers
- Intercompany or trust arrangements relevant to the ownership structure
Key Person Assessment
Individuals occupying designated key roles within the applicant entity are subject to fitness and propriety checks. This includes:
- Directors
- Beneficial owners
- Persons holding senior management or compliance functions
Key person assessments may include:
- Identity verification
- Background checks
- Review of professional history
The Authority reserves the right to require additional information or documentation from any key person where necessary to complete the assessment.
Financial & Source of Funds
Applicants must demonstrate adequate financial resources to support the proposed licensed operations. Source of funds documentation is required to confirm the legitimacy of capital used to establish and operate the licensed business.
The Authority may require audited financial statements, bank references, or other evidence of financial standing as part of the due diligence process.
Sanctions & Regulatory Screening
All applicants, key persons, and beneficial owners are screened against applicable international sanctions lists, politically exposed persons databases, and adverse media sources. The Authority will not issue a licence where screening identifies unresolved concerns.

- Fitness and propriety assessment of directors and key persons
- Source of funds verification and financial standing review
- Sanctions screening against applicable international lists
- Adverse media and regulatory history checks

The Authority may request additional documentation at any stage of the due diligence process. Incomplete or unsatisfactory submissions may result in delays or refusal of the application.
