Responsible Gaming

The Authority requires all licensed operators to implement player protection measures designed to reduce gambling-related harm. Responsible gaming obligations are a condition of licensure.

Licensed operators are required to provide responsible gaming tools, information, and safeguards to consumers using their gaming services. The Authority’s regulatory standards define the minimum measures that must be in place.

Operator Obligations

Licensed operators must provide the following responsible gaming measures as a condition of their licence:

  • Self-exclusion mechanisms allowing players to restrict or close access to gaming services
  • Player controls for setting limits on deposits, wagers, losses, and session duration
  • Age verification procedures to prevent access by minors
  • Clear and accessible information on responsible gaming and available support resources
  • Advertising standards that prohibit targeting of minors or vulnerable persons

Self-Exclusion

Players wishing to self-exclude from gaming services must submit their request directly to the relevant licensed operator. Each licensed operator is required to maintain a self-exclusion procedure and to honour valid self-exclusion requests in accordance with its licence conditions.

The Authority does not process individual self-exclusion requests. Players who believe a licensed operator has failed to honour a self-exclusion request may report the matter to the Authority through the compliance reporting process.

The Authority’s Role

The Authority sets the regulatory standards for responsible gaming and monitors operator compliance through its supervisory framework. The Authority does not provide direct support services to players but requires licensed operators to signpost independent support resources.

Important

The Authority does not adjudicate individual player disputes. Players with concerns about a licensed operator’s conduct may submit a report through the compliance reporting process.

Compliance Reporting

Report potential breaches of licence conditions or regulatory requirements.
